Sales Engineer

Job Role

We have an exciting new opportunity within our Norwich Branch for a very experienced and highly motivated Sales Engineer with a proven track record for building and maintaining excellent client relationships. 

Purpose of Role   

To be responsible for the promotion and marketing of Adcock’s services to both existing and potential Customers. To establish and maintain continuous and successful business relationships by ensuring exemplary customer service, delivered to the highest standard and integrity.

Key Responsibilities:  

  • Identify and follow up on current and prospective sales opportunities.  
  • Network to improve the presence and reputation of the branch and company and visit sites regularly to ensure customer satisfaction.  
  • Be actively involved in the process of business development to ensure continued and sustainable growth for the department and for the business as a whole.    
  • Responsible for ensuring profitability and attaining set targets for the department.  
  • Establish contact with customers, designers and contractors, submit offers to trade and negotiation of contracts, ensuring professionalism and excellent customer service at all times.  
  • Address customer and employee satisfaction issues promptly.  

Offer design input on installation projects.

Candidate Requirements


  • Proven sales and customer relationship management experience in the Air Conditioning industry.
  • Experience in design and pricing of high value Air Conditioning installations, chiller plant and ventilation systems as well as domestic appliances.


  • Ability to work closely with contractors on sites, end users, schools, hospitals, retail outlets, etc.
  • Technical knowledge within the refrigeration and air conditioning field  
  • Able to work well with others as well independently  
  • A self- motivator with the ability to work independently and with initiative  
  • Understanding of and ability to deliver excellent customer service  
  • Good understanding of the sales process and dynamics  
  • Understanding of and commitment to the delivery of excellent customer service   
  • A self- motivator with the ability to work independently and with initiative   
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills   
  • Computer literate with ability to use Microsoft Office/365 applications to intermediate level.

We offer an excellent package including a generous basic pay plus commission and a company car.  

Working hours are 40 hours per week, 8am to 5pm, Monday to Friday.
