In Milton Keynes, five people have died on the streets in the last 2 years, and an estimated 150 people are sleeping rough. Without adequate hostel solutions available, there are limited options for homeless people, a third of whom are under the age of 25.
The Bus Shelter Charity is using a donated tour bus once used by Rod Stewart and Robbie Williams, to provide 24/7 shelter, food and support for their residents, who are rough sleepers looking to make progress towards a life of independence away from the streets.
Adcock was asked to provide a temperature control solution for the bus as an alternative to an expensive diesel heater which wasn’t providing enough heat. Our Engineers installed 2 ducted fan coils linking them to a multi split condenser which was all mounted in a modified internal storage area. This enables the bus to be moved to its new home later this year without further alterations being made to the system.
We value the important contribution made by our business partners: Daikin, Greenmills and Total Ventilation Solution who provided materials free of charge and at reduced rates. We would like to take this opportunity to thank them for supporting this charity.
The Bus Mk has a lot of rewarding opportunities for volunteering. If you would like to know more please fill in the form at: http://thebussheltermk.org/volunteer or email email@example.com
