Bringing Modern Airflow to a Historic Stage - Wilton's Music Hall

Adcock has successfully completed a specialist HVAC upgrade project at Wilton's Music Hall, the oldest Grand Music Hall in the world and one of London’s most unique performance venues.

Having become a new Adcock client earlier this year, Wilton’s Music Hall trusted our team to modernise the heating and cooling arrangement serving the existing AHU within the Grade 2 listed building, which hosts more than 300 performances and over 80 productions annually.

The project involved removing the previous gas boiler-fed heater battery and heating coil, and upgrading the system with a new interlaced DX coil connected to three Mitsubishi Electric reverse cycle condensing units. The existing wet heating system was drained down, redundant coils capped off and the gas boiler removed as part of the wider improvement works.

The new installation now provides both pre-heating and pre-cooling of incoming fresh air serving the music hall. The addition of pre-cooling will significantly improve comfort levels for audiences, performers and staff during warmer periods — functionality the venue did not previously benefit from.

Delivering works within a historic and operational entertainment venue required careful coordination and planning throughout, with BMS works carried out directly for the client by iBMS alongside the Adcock installation team.

The project was introduced to Adcock through Power Plan Services Ltd, who developed the design and specification for the works. Adcock was subsequently successful through the competitive tender process and appointed to deliver the installation.

As a Mitsubishi Electric Diamond Quality Partner, Adcock continues to deliver high-quality, energy-efficient solutions backed by manufacturer-accredited training, technical expertise and access to enhanced warranty support.

We are proud to support such an iconic venue and look forward to continuing our relationship with the Wilton’s Music Hall team.
