Future-Ready Cold Room Upgrade Completed for ALS Laboratories (UK) Ltd

Adcock is pleased to announce the successful completion of a cold room replacement project at the Shrewsbury facility of long-standing customer ALS Laboratories (UK) Ltd, a partnership that has continued since 2007. ALS provides an extensive range of environmental testing solutions including expert laboratory analysis, field testing, and site sampling, all of which rely on dependable temperature-controlled storage. 

Following a detailed site visit, Adcock’s Special Projects Division was appointed to decommission and remove the existing external cold store and ageing refrigeration equipment, relocate an existing air-conditioning unit, and design, supply, and install a new larger cold room complete with modern refrigeration plant. The project included the installation of internal lighting and a bespoke control panel designed specifically for the operational requirements of the site. 

During the refrigeration design process our engineering team assessed the application requirements. Consideration was given to both maximum and minimum ambient design temperatures to ensure reliable year-round temperature stability and system performance, with heating required during the winter period and cooling at all other times of the year.  

The new installation delivers increased storage capacity together with enhanced efficiency, control, and long-term reliability providing ALS with a future-proofed solution that supports its ongoing growth and laboratory operations.
